In the future, not doing daily exercise will be considered equal to smoking 2 packs of cigarettes per day. So harmful is it to be sedentary, lazy, overweight…
Exercise 2 times a week is almost nothing. It is worst to play 4 hours of volleyball on Saturday or 30 minutes walk at the Mall.
If we accept that the Bengal tiger and we are equal in biological terms, must accept the damage that makes us so much immobility and stress.
The reason: when the body does not receive the message to keep on moving, it begins to recede, hibernate like bears, it declines. We are not old or sick because such is life, but because we sent that message to our body that we are already tired and want to grow old and die.
We say: I get to 50 or 60 years, and I’m old. In the end, I’m going to rest. And automatically, the body / mind / spirit start going downhill.
A person who does nothing, gets fat, becomes slow, and – with all the respect… a little silly. The blood flowing while exercising brings vitality to the brain, bones, muscles, cartilage. The hinges of the body and the cells are renewed. If you stop moving, the indication that you give to the blood is: go slow… don’t take vitality… be paralyzed.
Like the river flowing, the years pass and one is going with the flow. The body becomes lazy, getting up in the morning is an effort, knees and back start to hurt because they are not lubricated, and the heart, as an old shopping cart, goes slower…
But the body is generous and if one makes the effort every morning and gets out to walk, run, gym, paddle, ride a bike for an hour, the body will ask for more, it becomes joyful, vital. One goes out to work, with new energy, the mood at the top, the mind is open, the heart beats well, muscles endure, and one goes against the tide, against age and time.
And also exercise becomes more and more fun. “It’s almost like a vice. A good thing makes you addicted without side effects”- says the book Younger Next Year.
How to be younger next year?
ONE: Exercise with discipline every day. Not 3 days a week, 7 days a week!
TWO: We are still in point ONE.
